It's no secret that the Dead Space remake made strides with its narrative retrofit of the original experience, but it's the foreshadowing of the series' future events that really brings the whole thing together. Initially thought to be a last-ditch call to action of a long-dead alien race, Isaac eventually learns that the phrase instead comes from a Moon-sized Necromorph organism that's been guiding people to help bring it back to life all along. As it turns out, this is the "turn it off" phrase, which many franchise fans will recall from Dead Space 3. Aside from adding more information to the backstory of Dead Space, Motive Studio has also used the franchise's previously established Marker-derived alphabet that can be translated into English. Reddit user Rios7467 was among the first to spot a clever bit of Unitology script tucked away in the remake's objective UI. More specifically, the developer Motive Studio set up a true-to-form remake of the original Dead Space all the while underlining its best features with a series of clever additions and changes to the core narrative. Having received wide acclaim, the game has shown itself to be more than just a faithful remake after all. The Dead Space community has been poring over the remake ever since it came out, and players have already discovered a few notable references to certain events and lore that would eventually take place during the campaign of Dead Space 3.
